NCLCCA Advocacy: Get Involved!
NCLCCA is the only advocate in the state for private, licensed child care providers, working specifically on their challenges and concerns in the state legislative and regulatory arenas.
Advocate involvement and support helps us to be more effective on issues impacting children, families and your bottom line, including pre-K, subsidy, SEEK, certification as well as burdensome and costly rules and regulations.
Our Advocacy efforts include:
- Working together to advance a member-driven agenda in the state legislature each year;
- Enlisting a top-ranked, full-time lobbying team representing NCLCCA members in the NC General Assembly;
- Serving as a watchdog in the regulatory arena – NCLCCA has representatives at all meetings of the Child Care Commission, DCDEE subsidy and rated license advisory committees, NC Pre-K advisory committee, and more; and
- Sharing valuable communication on child care issues and legislative and regulatory activity in time to make a difference.
What Can You Do? You can make a difference by staying informed, being engaged and advocating for policies and legislation that benefits licensed child care providers in NC – and ultimately the children and families in the communities you serve.
