NC Child Care Commission Meeting - March 11, 2010

NOTICE:  The meeting, originally scheduled for February 4, 2010, was postponed to March 11, 2010 due to inclement weather.

Summary of the Commission Meetings for March 11, 2010:  There was a report given by Deb Cassidy, DCD Director.  In addition, the Rules Committee and School Age Committee both met in the morning prior to the full Commission meeting.  The majority of the Commission discussion centered around a definition of "if weather conditions permit" and the separation of computer usage from the new screen time limitations.  They will continue discussion of the proposed rules at their next meeting on April 29, 2010.  The proposed rules have not yet been approved to be forwarded on to the next step in the process, which is review by the Rules Review Commission (RRC) within the Office of Administrative Hearings.  This March meeting was also a continuation of the Public Hearing on the proposed Developmental Day rules, and there was no additional comment.
