Membership Categories and Benefits

There are three categories of Membership:

Center Members are a voting category.  Dues amounts are calculated based on the number of sites owned by the company and on licensed capacity, which is a value we can track.   Family child care homes, non-profit centers, church-based....all types are welcome, as long as the program is licensed or is working toward licensure.  Our primary work is to serve center owners, directors, and other management staff through information updates, unique leadership-oriented training opportunities, and clarification of  issues that come up in child care centers.

Vendor Members fall under the Associate Member category.  These are businesses who have a product or service to offer to child care providers.  Associate members are a non-voting membership category.  Associate members receive discounts on meeting and conference exhibits and have early notification of meeting or sponsorship opportunities.  Those who choose to send us copies of a single piece of promotional material will have that item included in the membership packet we send each new member and each current member when they renew annually, which helps to spread the word even further.

Affiliate Members are another non-voting category, and are typically non-profit agencies such as Resource & Referrals or Smart Start Partnerships who do not provide direct care to children but who have a keen interest in staying in the loop concerning early childhood in North Carolina.  Members who sell their child care centers or who are no longer working in a child care facility are often invited to remain as Affiliate Members when their membership status changes.
