The NCLCCA Difference

How is NCLCCA different from other early childhood advocacy organizations in North Carolina?

WHO WE SERVE

Our focus is on the people who own and operate child care centers on a daily basis.  Our priorities and work are not influenced or impacted by state agencies or non-profit organizations because they are not our funders.  Our priorities are determined by input from our members through annual surveys, feedback and participation at events, one-on-one conversations with providers across the state, and our growing Advocacy Council.

FUNDING
NCLCCA is funded through membership dues, advocacy contributions and event registration fees.  Other organizations receive state funds through DCDEE, Smart Start, Resource & Referral agencies, etc.  NCLCCA receives no local, state or federal government funding.

COMMUNICATION
We maintain a membership email database and send regular emails to our members with updates on all kinds of issues impacting child care providers.  Email is also how we ask our members for input or feedback on important issues or our legislative agenda.
We also have a website that contains updates on issues, tucked behind a sign-in page that is accessible by members only, and is available 24/7.

STRUCTURE
We are governed by a five-member executive committee and 10 additional members of our Board of Directors.  All of our board members, as well as our Executive Director, are invested in the child care industry and can relate to the day-to-day operations of a child care facility.  These leaders represent small programs, multi-state companies and everything in between.   These leaders are proud of the work we do and are personally invested in the success of the organization.
